The Senior Associate will play an integral role across the full lifecycle of private equity secondary and GP-led transactions. The role involves primary responsibility for the quantitative and qualitative analysis of portfolio companies and funds, active participation in deal execution, and ongoing post-investment monitoring. The successful candidate will work closely with senior investment professionals and interact extensively with external advisers, GPs, and investors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth quantitative and qualitative analysis of potential investments, including detailed sector, company, and fund-level research.
  • Perform comprehensive financial modelling, including company and fund valuation, transaction structuring, and scenario analysis.
  • Support and coordinate commercial, financial, tax, and legal due diligence processes.
  • Prepare high-quality materials for Investment Committee and other internal decision-making forums.
  • Liaise with external consultants and advisers to support transaction analysis where required.
  • Structuring & Execution
  • Model and evaluate alternative transaction and deal structures to determine optimal investment approaches.
  • Coordinate execution workstreams across legal, financial, and operational stakeholders.
  • Assist with document review and negotiation in collaboration with Coller Capital’s in-house legal team.
  • Support transaction closings, including interaction with fund administrators, external directors, and counterparties.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and maintain up-to-date oversight of underlying investments.
  • Prepare returns forecasts, investment commentary, and reporting for internal monitoring and governance purposes.
  • Respond to ad hoc portfolio-related actions and approvals, including matters relating to distributions and stock receipts.
  • Contribute to ongoing portfolio value creation and asset management initiatives where appropriate.
  • Conduct targeted desk research to support deal origination, marketing, and fundraising activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with General Partners, investors, consultants, and advisers.
  • Participate in warm/hot calling and selective cold calling efforts, typically as part of a geographically or sector-focused team.
  • Support the preparation of marketing and fundraising materials as required.

Other Responsibilities

  • Travel as required, including attendance at AGMs, industry conferences, and networking events.
  • Contribute to broader team initiatives and knowledge-sharing across the platform.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant experience in a financial or investment-related environment, with completed analyst training or equivalent and exposure at Associate level, gained in one or more of the following: Private equity or secondaries, Funds of funds, Pension fund, family office, or institutional LPM&A, corporate finance, or leveraged finance, Investment consulting (finance-focused).
  • Demonstrable transaction experience.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Advanced financial modelling and valuation capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Established professional network in the UK and experience working in the UK.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Solid understanding of the private equity secondaries and/or GP-led market.
  • Results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Highly motivated, ambitious, and intellectually curious.
  • Strong strategic and commercial judgement.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with initiative and adaptability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
