MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Residential House Parent is responsible for supervising students between the ages of 8 and 18 years and organising activities/animations. The Residential House Parent will reside on campus in shared accommodations and will be responsible for students' care and well-being overnight. 2 male positions are available.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Welcoming and monitoring children from 8 to 18 years
- Accompanying and supervising children in the afternoon, evening, overnight and breakfast
- Entertaining by leading hands-on and/or sports activities
- Organising games, workshops and shows
- Ensuring the safety of children during all trips in or out of the Summer Camp
- Being responsible for children's hygiene and safety
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety rules of Collège du Léman and respecting the material and the areas
- Providing a safe and nurturing environment for boarding students
- Implementing the boarding house code of conduct, ensuring that, along with sanctions, rewards are provided for deserving boarders
- Promoting acceptance of other cultures within the boarding house
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Experience working with children and teens mandatory
- Responsible and autonomous
- Ability to reassure children and parents
- Languages required: English and French (Russian, Japanese, Chinese or Arabic is a plus)
- CPR & First Aid knowledge
- Good interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Works well under pressure
- Motivated, dynamic, flexible, professional, organised, and creative
- Ability to work in a team environment is vital
- Availability in July and August, weekends included
