An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the well-respected and dynamic clerking team at College Chambers, Southampton as First Junior Clerk.

Who are we looking for?

As a senior role in the Clerks room and responsible for deputising for the Senior Clerk in their absence, we are looking for someone who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and is an effective problem-solver with sound judgement and a high level of attention to detail. The successful candidate will have demonstrable and confident decision-making skills together with exceptional organisational and multi-tasking abilities. This role also requires the individual to have clerking, administration and/or people management experience.

Experience in online marketing and event organisation and management is welcomed. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take the lead on this side of the promotion of Chambers, with the support and guidance of the Senior Clerk.

This is a full-time role within Chambers of 40 hours per week. The usual office hours for the First Junior Clerk are between the hours of 9am and 6pm. There will be occasions where the role requires flexibility to work between the hours of 8am and 6:30pm and attendance at breakfast or evening networking, for example quizzes and black tie dinners.

Remuneration for this role is offered in the region of ÂŁ50,000, subject to experience. The successful candidate will have an annual leave entitlement of 20 days per year plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service. Chambers has dedicated Equality, Diversion and Inclusion and Wellbeing Officers and there are regular opportunities to attend social events with others in Chambers, if you would like to do so.
