Head of Lettings Accounts to take ownership of the financial side of our growing Lettings business.
This is a key role within the team, with real responsibility for maintaining strong financial controls, supporting our clients and tenants, and helping us continue to build an efficient, well-run accounts function.

Job Summary
Head of Lettings Accounts , you’ll play a key role in keeping the financial side of our growing Lettings business running smoothly and effectively.
You’ll take ownership of the lettings accounts function, ensuring our financial processes are accurate, well managed and kept up to date.
Working closely with the Lettings Accounts team, you’ll help maintain strong financial controls, support landlords and tenants with their queries, and ensure the day-to-day running of the accounts function is efficient and well organised.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and assist in the day-to-day management of the lettings accounts, including rent collection, tenant deposit handling, and arrears management.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to lettings income, expenditure, and arrears.
- Manage and oversee payments to landlords, contractors, and third parties, ensuring that transactions are processed accurately and on time.
- Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of lettings accounts.
- Assist in the management of tenant arrears, implement debt collection procedures, and work with tenants to set up payment plans where necessary.
- Ensure that all lettings financial activities comply with industry regulations, including landlord and tenant laws, anti-money laundering (AML) requirements, and data protection.
- Provide guidance and training to junior accounts staff, supporting their professional development and ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Act as a point of contact for landlords and tenants regarding financial queries, resolving disputes professionally and efficiently.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes to help with strategic financial planning.
- Key Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an accounts or a similar finance role.
- At least 1 year experience in a supervisory or senior position.
- Strong proficiency in property management and accounting software.
- Ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.
- Proactive problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Experience in training and mentoring a team.
