Commercial Associate

Reporting to the Director of Procurement and Revenue Operations | Permanent – Full Time/Hybrid | Based in Kings Cross, London | Salary: £29k

We are looking for an organised and commercially minded Associate to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a graduate or someone in the early stages of their career who has an interest in food supply chains and wants to build broad commercial experience. You’ll gain hands‑on exposure to how new customer accounts are brought on board and how existing accounts are developed, covering product sourcing, pricing up R&D, supplier negotiation and new site onboarding.

You will be responsible for taking a newly signed account from agreement through to a fully operational, live account, as well as supporting existing accounts with new product requests, category changes and ongoing supplier management. This is a development role reporting to the Director of Procurement and Revenue Operations, and offers exposure to procurement, supplier management, commercial operations and account management.

For a graduate or someone in the early years of their career, the exciting part of this role is that you wouldn’t be pigeonholed into one area of the business. You’d get to understand how different commercial functions work together, build a broad foundation of experience and develop an understanding of where you might want to take your career in the future.

What you'll be doing:

New account onboarding

• Sourcing new products and suppliers to meet a new account's specifications
• Negotiating cost prices, pricing and payment terms with suppliers
• Accurately setting up new accounts across our systems, including pricing and product data
• Working from an agreed account specification covering pricing, delivery requirements and target margin
• Managing the onboarding process to agreed timescales, with accounts typically live within 7 to 14 days of the deal being agreed, followed by a review period to confirm performance against the agreed margin

Ongoing account and supplier management

• Managing product requests, samples, new categories and menu changes for existing accounts
• Conducting supplier visits and maintaining day‑to‑day supplier relationships
• Resolving product quality issues in conjunction with suppliers and the Customer Service and Fulfilment team
• Keeping pricing and product information up to date across our systems

Commercial operations

• Liaising with the Account Growth team on new opportunities to ensure they are onboarded accurately and efficiently
• Liaising with the Customer Service and Fulfilment team on stock availability, quality issues and account handovers
• Providing cost and product analysis to support tenders and contract renewals

What we're looking for:

• A well organised individual, able to prioritise to achieve the best results from available resources
• Good administrative and numeracy skills
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team, with mature written communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail and a willingness to adopt a hands‑on approach
• Ability to manage multiple projects at one time and meet agreed deadlines
• Confident liaising with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders, with a strong sense of ownership and urgency
• Relevant experience is beneficial but not essential; we are equally interested in the right attitude and potential to develop
