As a Senior Front End Developer at Collctiv, you will help craft and maintain our user‑facing and internal applications across web and mobile platforms. Using React (Next.js) and React Native (Expo), you’ll deliver a seamless, user‑friendly experience for our Organisers. The role is essential for building and enhancing the digital touchpoints that empower our community, ensuring high performance, scalability, and intuitive design. You will translate user feedback and product requirements into high‑quality code, drive product development, and optimise operational efficiencies of our front‑end architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Front‑End Development: Lead the development and maintenance of high‑performance, scalable front‑end applications across web and mobile using React, Next.js, React Native, and Expo. Establish and maintain technical standards, best practices, and a robust maintainable codebase, including code reviews and documentation. Drive adoption of modern tooling, testing frameworks, and CI/CD practices. Collaborate with the UI/UX team to bring design ideas to life.
  • Product Collaboration and Execution: Collaborate closely with Growth, Customer Support, Marketing, and Backend teams to translate user needs into elegant, high‑quality solutions and a seamless experience. Communicate new releases and features across the team, driving understanding and adoption. Ensure technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and contribute to the design system and component library. Proactively identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and architectural improvements.
  • Leadership: Act as a technical leader, sharing knowledge, promoting best practices, and fostering continuous learning. Own complex features from concept to deployment, ensuring timely delivery and quality. Champion a data‑driven approach, participating in A/B testing and using data to guide decisions.

Skills – Essential: Experience in React (Next.js) and React Native (Expo) is required.

Skills – Desirable: A growth mindset and willingness to learn from failures. Experience with Next.js, Expo, SwiftUI frameworks. Experience working with payments. Developed apps using event‑driven, serverless architecture and public cloud, ideally Google Cloud Platform. Launched apps to App Store and Google Play. A commitment to experimentation and efficiency. A deep passion for front‑end development and staying current without compromising stability.

Location: Collctiv implements a mixed work‑from‑home/office approach. Ideally spend at least one day a week in our Stockport HQ, but fully remote is acceptable if needed. We provide necessary equipment for home work and offer an unlimited holiday policy.

Salary: £52,398 to £61,994 + company options + unlimited holidays + monthly wellbeing policy.
