Your role is to mine the market, unearth projects, and position the company to be invited to bid on high-value commercial furniture opportunities.
Here’s how it works:
- You identify and qualify new business opportunities across London and the UK.
- You facilitate introductions and secure invitations to tender.
- Once the opportunity is qualified and the bid invitation secured, you hand over to one of the company’s dealer partners who will manage the project through to completion.
- You move on to your next hunt.
- This role is not about account management or project delivery – it’s about prospecting, relationship building, and deal origination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and qualify new business opportunities within the commercial furniture and workplace sectors.
- Build relationships with architects, interior designers, workplace consultants, corporate occupiers, and project stakeholders.
- Research and target upcoming office fit-outs, refurbishments, and new build projects.
- Secure invitations to tender and facilitate dealer partner introductions.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities using CRM systems.
- Attend industry events, networking functions, and trade shows to generate leads.
- Collaborate closely with the dealer network and internal teams to ensure seamless handovers.
- Track market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within a similar business development or new business role within the commercial interiors, furniture, FF&E, or workplace sectors.
- Proven track record of prospecting, lead generation, and opening new accounts.
- Understanding of the A&D community and commercial furniture supply chain.
- Experience working with or through dealer/distributor networks is advantageous.
- Hunter mentality, you’re energised by the chase and love opening doors.
- Extremely ambitious, you see this as a springboard to rapid career progression and high earnings.
