Account Manager Furniture Dealer

Full-Time No working from home possible

£80,000 OTE at target, with genuine scope to earn more

This is for someone with experience - transferable skills are not enough (sorry)

A strong opportunity for an experienced furniture salesperson or Account Manager who wants greater ownership, better earning potential and the chance to work across genuinely design-led projects.

We’re working with a growing furniture and lighting consultancy delivering projects across hospitality, workplace, residential and leisure.

The business sits between design, procurement and project delivery, working closely with architects, designers and clients to source and deliver furniture and lighting schemes that balance aesthetics, budget, programme and environmental responsibility.

They are now looking for an Account Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of clients, deliver projects and develop long-term commercial relationships.

THE ROLE

This is a client-facing, commercially focused position combining account management, furniture specification, project ownership and sales.

You’ll work with clients from the early stages of a brief through to final delivery, helping translate design intent into furniture and lighting solutions that are well considered, commercially viable and deliverable.

You’ll be expected to take real ownership of your accounts.

That means building strong relationships, understanding where opportunities exist, developing specifications and proposals, managing pricing and margin, and making sure projects are handed over and delivered properly.

This isn’t just about winning the initial order.

The aim is to become a trusted partner to your clients, develop repeat business and grow accounts over the long term.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Managing and developing a portfolio of client accounts.
  • Building relationships with architects, interior designers and end clients.
  • Understanding briefs and translating design intent into appropriate furniture and lighting solutions.
  • Preparing specifications, quotations and client proposals.
  • Curating products with a strong eye for design, quality and suitability.
  • Taking responsibility for pricing, margin and overall commercial viability.
  • Negotiating with clients and suppliers where required.
  • Managing multiple live projects, budgets, timelines and stakeholders.
  • Guiding clients through product selection and specification.
  • Identifying opportunities for repeat business and account growth.
  • Working closely with Project and Operations teams to ensure a clear handover and successful delivery.
  • Attending client meetings, industry events and networking opportunities.

ABOUT YOU

  • Furniture industry experience is essential.
  • You will ideally have at least 2+ years’ experience working as an Account Manager, Furniture Consultant, Salesperson or in a similar commercial role for a furniture dealer, consultancy, brand or closely related business.
  • You should already understand how furniture projects are specified, quoted, sold and delivered, and be comfortable working directly with architects, designers and end clients.
  • You’re likely to be commercially ambitious and comfortable working towards sales and gross profit targets.
  • You’ll have good knowledge of furniture brands and the wider interiors market, combined with strong design judgement and the confidence to make considered product recommendations.
  • You’ll also be highly organised, comfortable managing several live projects at once, confident preparing quotations and specifications, and able to take ownership rather than waiting to be directed.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a strong next move for someone already established within the furniture industry who wants more ownership of clients, projects and commercial outcomes.

You’ll be joining an ambitious, design-conscious business where good taste, strong client relationships and commercial performance are equally important.

The earning potential is also significant.

OTE at target: c.£80,000

Commission at target: c.£35,000

And for someone who performs above target, there is genuine scope to earn beyond that.

If you understand furniture, enjoy developing client relationships and want a role where strong performance is properly rewarded, this is well worth a conversation.
