To help lead and deliver CHC’s day-to-day recruitment activity, attracting and appointing the volunteers it needs to deliver its mission. This is a hands‑on role working closely with the Chief People Strategy Officer to translate workforce priorities into effective recruitment activity.

Key Deliverables (First 3–6 Months)

  • Clear visibility of all open roles and hiring priorities
  • Consistent, simple recruitment process in place across the charity
  • Active advertising of roles via appropriate channels (including Reach)
  • Pipeline of candidates for priority roles
  • Improved time-to-fill for key positions
  • Positive feedback from candidates and hiring leads on the recruitment experience

What are we looking for? Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end recruitment (in-house or agency)
  • Ability to operate in a hands‑on, delivery‑focused role with minimal infrastructure
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑moving, evolving environment
  • Pragmatic, solutions‑focused approach with a bias for action

What will you be doing?

End-to-End Recruitment Delivery

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle across volunteer and key roles, from briefing through to onboarding
  • Work directly with team and functional leads to define role requirements and priorities
  • Draft clear, engaging role descriptions that reflect CHC’s mission and needs
  • Screen and shortlist candidates, coordinating interviews and selection processes
  • Ensure a positive, responsive candidate experience throughout

Talent Pipeline & Sourcing

  • Proactively source candidates using appropriate platforms (including Reach and other volunteer networks)
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of aligned talent for current and future needs
  • Identify practical ways to increase reach and attract diverse, mission‑aligned candidates

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner closely with the Chief People Strategy Officer to align recruitment activity with organisational priorities
  • Work with Exec and team leads to understand evolving talent needs and respond quickly
  • Provide light‑touch guidance to hiring leads to support consistent and effective selection

Process Simplicity & Efficiency

  • Implement simple, proportionate recruitment processes that respect volunteer time
  • Track and manage open roles, ensuring visibility and momentum
  • Identify quick, practical improvements to streamline hiring activity

Onboarding Support

  • Ensure a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience for new joiners
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to enable effective induction into teams
