We are working on behalf of a Poole based manufacturing company, to employ an experienced Quality Manager to lead and develop the Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety Management Systems within this growing manufacturing and engineering business.

Reporting to the senior leadership team, the Quality Manager will drive quality excellence across the organisation, ensuring compliance with ISO9001, as well as supporting ISO13485 readiness, improving supplier performance, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role working closely with internal stakeholders, such as Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and general operations.

Key Responsibilities of the Quality Manager:

  • Lead and develop the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Maintain ISO9001 compliance and support future ISO13485 implementation.
  • Manage internal and external audits, including certification audits.
  • Lead NCR, CAPA, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Develop and improve supplier quality processes, performance monitoring, and audits.
  • Drive quality standards across production, inspection, testing, and dispatch operations.
  • Monitor and report quality KPIs, customer complaints, supplier defects, and quality trends.
  • Maintain and improve ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems.
  • Oversee Health & Safety governance, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support risk management, process standardisation, and operational excellence across the business.

The Successful Quality Manager can demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in a Senior Quality Manager, Quality Manager, or Head of Quality role.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience leading audits, quality system development, and continuous improvement programmes.
  • Proven track record managing NCR, CAPA, and root cause investigations.
  • Experience managing supplier quality and performance improvement.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing, engineering, or technical production environments.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Additional / Desirable Experience:

  • Knowledge of ISO13485 and regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience within healthcare technology, aerospace, defence, life sciences, or similar sectors.
  • ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems experience.
  • Lead Auditor qualification.
  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or structured problem-solving experience.
