Job Responsibilities
- Provide third line technical application support for internal and external users.
- Coordinate the investigation and estimation of business change requests to existing or new Freeview Play Services.
- Ensure all product enhancement requests and open support issues are prioritized and addressed.
- Establish and maintain a deep and up to date knowledge of each application, working with business unit end users to understand needs.
- Maintain a central repository of test collateral for each application, ensuring projects deliver new test scripts (e.g. Business Process Tests, System Tests, Unit Tests and Performance Tests) in a standard and comprehensive format.
- Ensure each test release exercises a full regression test utilising the associated test collateral.
- Undertake Service Transition, Project Delivery and Application Lifecycle Management activities.
- Contribute to new software applications initiatives and the management and governance of supplier delivery.
- Maintain relationships with key users of business applications and system owners.
- Work as part of a DevOps team to design and deliver technical solutions specified through agile project methodologies using tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Execute code deployment, through testing, staging and production platforms.
- Carry third line support activities on fault investigations through the interpretation of monitoring analysis, production of root cause analysis and post incident reports.
- Develop workflow and deployment automation tools in support of dynamic service creation across multiple application and monitoring components.
- Ensure system deployments, software developments and access/authentication adhere to best practice security models.
- Support development estimation activities and showcase deliveries.
- Partake in effective communications with senior stakeholders, third party suppliers and the board.
- Implement control measures and regular reporting and take corrective actions as necessary to maintain the delivery of benefits and ensuring monitoring and meeting of financial targets.
- Promote an effective Safety, Health and Environment culture, to ensure a safe and healthy working environment within area of operation.
- Maintain a secure working environment in line with ISO, and the requirements of the Information Security Management System in order to protect individuals, information and assets.
Qualifications
- Degree level of education or equivalent industry sector experience.
- Strong Linux server management skills.
- Strong cloud server management skills in at least one of AWS, Azure or Google. Demonstrable ability with tools like Terraform to manage infrastructure deployment.
- Strong skills in configuration management tools like: Puppet / Chef / Ansible / Consul.
- Demonstrable experience of software development methodologies, including the use of code management through systems like Git.
- Experience of Docker and containerisation.
- Good working knowledge of agile project methodologies, supporting effort estimations, leading spike activities and showcase presentations.
- Demonstrable evidence of successful resource planning, utilisation and management.
