# Senior Research Fellow and Programme Manager in Taiwan Studies**Contract:** Full-time, fixed-term until 30 September 2028**About the Role**The Oxford School of Global and Area Studies wishes to appoint a full-time, fixed-term Senior Research Fellow and Programme Manager in Taiwan Studies.The postholder will lead the Oxford Taiwan Studies Programme, managing its day-to-day operations while developing a vibrant programme of research, teaching and public engagement. They will specialise in Taiwan Studies, with expertise in a relevant disciplinary or interdisciplinary field, including politics, political economy, anthropology, sociology, human geography, economic history, media and communication studies, social policy, or gender and sexuality studies.The role includes developing independent research projects, publishing high-quality academic outputs, organising workshops and conferences, preparing grant applications, hosting visiting scholars from Taiwan, and contributing to teaching. The postholder will also oversee the Programme website and communications, building relationships with stakeholders across and beyond the University.The position is based at the University of Oxford China Centre, Dickson Poon Building, Oxford, and is full-time and fixed-term until **30 September 2028**, starting on **1 October 2026**, or as soon as possible thereafter.**About You**You will hold a PhD/DPhil in a relevant discipline with a focus on Taiwan or Taiwan in comparative perspective, together with relevant research experience. You will have an established publication record in peer-reviewed outlets and the ability to initiate and manage independent research.You will demonstrate specialist knowledge of Taiwan Studies and the ability to develop innovative research projects, contribute to research income generation, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners.
