# Design Teaching Fellow (Part Time)The Department of Architecture invites applications for a Design Teaching Fellow. The post is fractional, 0.253FTE, working 9.36 hours per week, both in and out of term time. The post is a permanent position.The purpose of the Design Teaching Fellow post is to teach architectural design on the four year professionally accredited Architecture and Design programmes.The Design Teaching Fellow position is designed primarily for practitioners with experience in studio teaching, who are active in design research and up to date professional skills to deliver excellent teaching that benefits from and engages with Cambridge's research rich environment and is intellectually challenging.With the successful launch of the Design Tripos, the Department is especially keen to recruit those who may have a background or expertise at the juncture of Architecture and Engineering, and a demonstrable knowledge of working inclusively with diverse communities of students.Over the course of the academic year a Design Fellow will:* Teach up to 9 hours per week during the 9 weeks of term. Studio teachers are expected to attend in Cambridge at least one day a week during term-time.* Take part in site visits, up to 12 hours per academic year* Assess/examiner students through an end-of-term crit - up to 9 hours for each Design Teaching Fellow each term* Take 8 hours per term of Professional Development* Attend two departmental away days each academic year* Spend 40 hours over the course of the year on preparation work to develop studio teaching.
