Reporting to: Media Strategy Director

Position Summary

The purpose of this role is to translate commercial and media goals into high performing retail media strategies within the Hill's EMEA team working across multiple markets and ensuring alignment between central and local priorities. Although your background is likely to be media, you will be an integral part of both the Marketing teams and the Customer Development team and work together to generate demand for Hill's brands both on and off the retailers platform. You will lead the relationship with our Retail Media agency partner to ensure complex paid search and DSP strategies are executed flawlessly, and that campaigns align to the broader businesses priorities. You will be responsible for the budgets and ensuring spend is optimised across a number of KPI's including New to Brand, ROAS and conversion and ensure media efficiency using advanced analytics such as MMM, marketplace data clean rooms, and innovative test and learn frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Customer Development team: The role involves supporting the Customer Development team to activate brand growth plans within online retailers. You will work to align the commercial priorities of the business with media execution. Additionally, you will attend commercial planning meetings and own the strategy for activating media within the retailer's advertising ecosystem.
  • Management of the Retail Media Agency & Retailer Advertising team: Serving as the primary point of contact for our retail media agency in Europe, you will ensure budgets are correctly paced and optimized to align with commercial and marketing priorities. You will educate the agency on Hill's brand goals, collaborating to build and execute strategies that drive performance. Your role includes leading media analytics initiatives like Market Mix Modelling and Brand Health tracking to demonstrate ROI. Additionally, you will design and execute Test & Learn roadmaps encompassing modular content and new platform betas. Finally, you will partner closely with the agency to ensure all media plans remain synchronized with overarching business objectives and key events.
  • Retail Media Strategy & Execution: You will plan and execute comprehensive online retail media programs across Search, DSP, and other platforms, ensuring all strategies are localized for European markets. You will actively manage retail media budgets and investment tracking while continuously evolving the media plan through new 'Test and Learn' capabilities. Additionally, you will own the end-to-end performance measurement of retail media spend, driving ongoing optimization with both internal teams and external agency partners. Finally, you will take ownership of the Data Clean Room strategy, collaborating closely with CRM and data teams to maximise insights.

Skills and Competencies

  • Media Expertise: Proven experience activating campaigns across retail media channels and broader digital media landscapes.
  • Analytical Rigor: Ability to interpret Market Mix Modelling (MMM) data and Brand Health metrics to drive decision-making.
  • Agility: Ability to remain agile in an ever-changing marketing landscape and prioritize workload under pressure.
  • Commercial Acumen: Understanding of how both brand and retail marketing drive commercial value and how to execute commercial priorities via media.
  • Communication: Excellent skills in dealing with customers and stakeholders, including Country GMs & Marketing Directors.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in English.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Digital or a similar field.
  • 5+ years of media experience ideally in global, matrixed organizations.
  • Proven critical thinking and advanced problem solving capabilities.
  • Excellent understanding of media measurement and optimisation strategy.
  • Strong collaboration skills and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English (written and oral).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in or directly with a digital media agency.
  • Pet Nutrition or related industry experience.
  • Knowledge of eCommerce performance management.
  • Strong experience using AI-powered tools.
  • Working proficiency in a second core European language (e.g., French, German, Spanish, or Italian).
  • Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Digital or a similar field.
