Position Details

The purpose of this role is to own and execute the Digital Shelf strategy across Europe for a major pureplay online retailer. You will hold direct responsibility for Content, Search Placement, and Ratings & Reviews, while holding indirect responsibility for on-shelf availability by collaborating with the wider commercial team to drive core metrics. You will lead the Pan-European test-and-learn strategy for content, continuously optimizing pages to maximize traffic and conversion rates. Working in close partnership with the Retail Media manager, you will ensure the delivery of high-converting landing pages for all media activations. Furthermore, you will partner with brand and content teams to guarantee a best-in-class shopper experience. This role requires robust analytical capabilities; you will measure page performance, content completeness, and overall digital shelf health against corporate targets. You must be highly proficient in eCommerce strategies, understanding exactly how to optimize a retailer’s website across Brand Stores, Product Detail Pages (PDPs), taxonomy, and site search. Success in this role requires leveraging enterprise Digital Shelf Management platforms to translate data metrics into actionable commercial strategies.
Responsibilities
- Content: responsible for loading and ensuring compliance of Product Detail Page (PDP) content while managing A/B testing and continuous optimisation of retailer content. Serve as the internal expert on premium content requirements, guiding brand and content teams through activation processes.
- Strategy & Tools: set the broader EMEA Digital Shelf Strategy and manage the regional relationship with the enterprise Digital Shelf tool provider. Collaborate with Global Digital teams to activate strategies across EMEA and support local country teams on digital shelf fundamentals.
- Search Placement: measure and improve organic placement and share of page in line with targets while owning the keyword strategy to ensure all content is fully optimised. Use digital shelf strategies to optimise for the retailer’s search algorithm to drive visibility and conversion.
- Ratings & Reviews: own the overarching strategy for the retailer to ensure strict brand metric compliance while managing the full lifecycle of ratings and reviews. Track consumer sentiment and deliver actionable insights to the brand teams.
Skills and Competencies
- Digital Shelf Expertise: proven experience setting and activating a Pan-EU Digital Shelf strategy with a major pureplay retailer.
- Analytical Rigor: demonstrated ability to interpret complex digital shelf data and translate insights into actions that improve KPIs.
- Commercial Acumen: deep understanding of how Retail Media, Digital Shelf, and eCommerce commercial functions interconnect to drive brand growth and execution.
- Agility: ability to remain flexible in a rapidly evolving marketing landscape and prioritise workloads effectively under pressure.
- Communication: excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing.
- Technical Proficiency: hands‑on experience with advanced content measurement and management tools is highly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Marketing, Digital Commerce or related field
- 5+ years experience in eCommerce, Digital Marketing or related field
- Experience working with Digital Shelf tools and large data sets to create continuous improvement and drive growth
- Experience in optimizing retailer algorithm across Digital Shelf KPI’s
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Fluency in English (written and oral).
Preferred Qualifications
- Pet Nutrition or related industry experience.
- Knowledge of market places, 1P & 3P selling
- Strong experience using AI-powered tools.
- Digital Marketing experience
- Working proficiency in a second core European language (e.g., French, German, Spanish, or Italian)
- Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Digital or a similar field.
