Join our kitchen team as an Apprentice Commis Chef at The Old Glasshouse Café & Delicatessen, near Beverley & Hull. Work alongside experienced chefs while gaining a recognised qualification through East Riding College. No previous kitchen experience needed - just enthusiasm, reliability and a willingness to learn.
You will receive hands‑on experience in a working kitchen, support and guidance from our experienced team, and training through East Riding College as you work towards your qualification. You will also receive staff discount (once eligible), and a share of tips. Our restaurant is an important part of our independent garden centre, with a friendly team serving our customers throughout the day. If you're enthusiastic about food, ready to learn and would like to start building a career as a chef, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Prepare ingredients and assist with cooking dishes across our menu
- Use kitchen equipment safely and correctly
- Follow recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Follow food safety, allergen and health and safety procedures
- Help with stock, storage and the everyday jobs that keep the kitchen running smoothly
- Work as part of the kitchen and restaurant team during service
