Job Purpose:
To assist the Fitness manager with the daily operation of Colets Gym and the areas/studios that fall within the gym and provide excellent customer service to our members.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Always provide excellent Customer Service.
- Listen to member feedback and be proactive.
- Promote Gym challenges and Incentives.
- Assist with the programme co-ordination of group classes/group inductions taken by the gym team.
- To be friendly with all members.
- To motivate and support members with all aspects of their training.
- To be proud of your work and helpful to members.
- Carrying out pre-exercise procedures for gym users as per the NOP.
- Lead group inductions and express classes.
- To conduct health assessments for members using the health system and app.
People:
- Support your fellow colleagues.
Operations:
- Ensure adherence to Colets' own rules and regulations.
- Adherence to Health and Safety regulations in all areas of the fitness department.
- All staff should be fully aware of and understand the departmental NOP, the club's emergency procedures and the club's emergency action plan.
- Maintain the gym Equipment to a high standard & report any faults/damage to the Fitness Manager.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the gym and complete relevant daily cleaning checklists.
- Work in accordance with the rota produced by the Fitness Manager. There may, however, be instances of your being asked to cover shifts at short notice due to absences.
- Attend regular staff meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications / Educational Requirements:
- Level 2 Gym Instructor required.
- Level 3 PT or Group X Qualification Required.
Preferred Skills:
- Essential IT Proficiency.
- Level 2 Gym Qualified.
- Level 3 PT or Group X Qualification.
- Excellent Communication.
- Preferable DBS checked.
- Experience in a Private Health Club environment.
- Experience working with age groups ranging 5yrs – 94yrs.
- Experience working within a gym.
- Knowledge of how to design gym programs & perform gym inductions.
- Experience of floor walking, instructing members on gym equipment, good customer service and cleaning.
