Job Purpose:

We’re looking for a friendly and motivated Bar Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of Basil’s Bar. You’ll ensure a welcoming atmosphere, high service standards, and smooth bar operations while supporting and leading the team.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Members: Build relationships with members, address their feedback, and ensure a personalised and friendly experience. Handle complaints and follow up with relevant manager.
  • Customer Service: Maintain a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, handle queries, and ensure cleanliness and compliance.
  • People: Train, support, and motivate staff to deliver outstanding service. Provide shift reports, update management, and liaise with event organisers. Conduct performance management reviews with Bar Manager.
  • Operations: Maintain high standards of health and safety, ensuring all policies are followed. Supervise bar service, ensuring efficiency and excellent customer experience. Act as the lead when the manager is absent. Oversee bar operations during events, manage closing duties, secure the premises, and follow all procedures. Monitor stock levels, restock as needed, and ensure vending machines are maintained. Ensure adherence to licensing laws, health & safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Finance: Maintain excellent stock control. Work with Bar Manager to maintain budgets and cost control.

Qualifications / Educational Requirements:

  • First Aid and Defibrillator.
  • Customer Service Training – Preferred.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Previous bar or hospitality experience, ideally in a supervisory role.
  • A friendly and approachable attitude with great customer service skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Attention to detail, especially with stock control and health & safety.
  • The ability to work evenings, weekends, and during events.
