We are seeking a

Newly Qualified Probate Solicitor to join our friendly and well-established Private Client team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor looking to develop their career in probate and estate administration, working closely with and supported by the Head of Department.

The successful candidate will be based in our Creekmore Office

The successful candidate will assist with a broad range of private client matters, gaining valuable experience in probate, wills, estate planning, and powers of attorney while receiving ongoing mentoring and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle the full process of applying for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration.
  • Assist with the administration of estates from initial instruction through to final distribution.
  • Draft, review, and amend Wills to accurately reflect clients' wishes and circumstances.
  • Advise clients on Inheritance Tax planning, including lifetime gifting, trusts, and available tax reliefs.
  • Prepare, submit, and register Lasting Powers of Attorney for Property & Financial Affairs and Health & Welfare.
  • Provide advice on and prepare Deeds of Variation to restructure inheritance arrangements following a death.
  • Liaise with executors, beneficiaries, financial institutions, HMRC, and other professional advisers.
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver excellent client care and build strong client relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the firm and contribute to the continued success of the Private Client department.

About You

  • Newly Qualified Solicitor.
  • Experience of Private Client work gained through a training contract or previous relevant role.
  • Strong communication and client care skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines.
  • A compassionate and professional approach when dealing with sensitive client matters.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and keen to develop expertise in Probate and Private Client law.
