We are looking to appoint a welcoming and organised Admin Assistant to become part of our team at Coleridge Primary School. Coleridge is a warm and inclusive school, currently graded Outstanding by Ofsted, and sits at the heart of a vibrant and culturally diverse community close to Rotherham town centre.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for enquiries, in person, over the telephone and by email, ensuring that all queries are handled efficiently and directed appropriately.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally, respecting the needs of the diverse multi‑cultural catchment of the school.
  • Ensure the smooth and effective running of the school office and all administrative systems while overseeing various administrative tasks and providing essential support and information to staff, parents and visitors.
  • Manage office procedures including word processing, record keeping, reprographics, banking transactions, sorting and distribution of mail and handling medical and reception duties, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Utilise advanced skills in word processing, Excel spreadsheet management and other computerised systems to support administrative tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Take notes and maintain accurate records of meetings when required.
  • Support school events by coordinating bookings, welcoming visitors and assisting with hospitality.
  • Comply with confidentiality and data protection processes, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person.
  • Promote the safeguarding and wellbeing of children and report any concerns about the safety of a child to the DSL following school policy and practices.
