The Role: As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a Year 1 pupil, providing tailored support throughout the school day. You will play an important role in helping the pupil access learning, develop their confidence and build positive relationships within the school environment. Your responsibilities will include: * Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil * Supporting the pupil to access and engage with classroom learning * Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team * Supporting the pupil's social, emotional and academic development * Encouraging independence and confidence * Helping the pupil develop positive relationships with peers * Supporting with transitions and changes throughout the school day * Providing reassurance and encouragement when needed * Adapting activities and approaches to meet the pupil's individual needs * Maintaining a positive, calm and nurturing approach at all times About You: We are looking for someone who is: * Passionate about supporting children with additional needs * Patient, nurturing and resilient * Confident working on a 1:1 basis * Able to build strong and trusting relationships with children * Comfortable working as part of a wider school team * Adaptable and willing to respond to the individual needs of the pupil * Positive and enthusiastic about helping children achieve their potential Previous experience working with SEN, SEND, autism, ADHD, social and emotional needs or within a primary school environment would be highly desirable.
