We’re working with an established and privately-owned Contractor who are looking for a Senior Mechanical Estimator to join their team based in Yorkshire, focusing on a variety of Building Services projects across sectors such as MOJ, Retail, Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Residential and much more. This role will require you to work autonomously on projects valued from £3m - £7m M&E. They currently have 20 people across Design and Pre-Construction teams and this role will offer a relaxed entry into the role with support from an existing Senior Estimator, with an Estimator and Junior Estimator below you. This company is currently turning over £32m as of 2025 and have increased their turnover this year by £13m, with next year due to be even busier!
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
- Quantifying labour, materials, plant, and specialist subcontractor costs
- Reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Attending site visits
- Interpreting specifications and drawings
- Identifying value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
- Supporting post-tender negotiations and project handovers
- Maintaining accurate estimating records and cost databases
