We are working with a well-established client who is actively looking for an Electrical Supervisor to join their team in the North East. This client delivers design, construction and refurbishment works on buildings for public and private clients. Typical sectors include Education, Healthcare, Defence and custodial facilities, large scale Commercial and urban living spaces. MOJ experience would be beneficial but not necessary.
This role will require you to supervise and coordinate electrical works on site, ensuring all activities are delivered safely, on programme, to specification and in accordance with their policies, procedures and values. The Electrical Supervisor will manage electrical operatives and subcontractors while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day electrical installation activities on site
- Manage and coordinate electrical operatives, subcontractors and resources
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with the construction programme
- Coordinate electrical works with other trades and site management
- Monitor productivity and address issues to maintain progress
- Deliver toolbox talks, site briefings and safety inductions as required
- Carry out regular safety inspections and audits
- Report and assist in the investigation of incidents, near misses and hazards
- Support commissioning, testing and handover processes
- Ensure accurate completion of site documentation, test results and as-built records
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within electrical installation on construction projects
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installation methods and regulations
- Experience managing direct labour and subcontractors
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Good understanding of construction sequencing and site coordination
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation
- ECS Gold Card (or equivalent)
- SMSTS or SSSTS
- 18th Edition (BS 7671)
