We are working with a privately owned Building Services consultancy who have been operating for over 25 years and are looking for an ambitious Intermediate level Electrical Design Engineer with aspirations to progress long term to work within a growing team in Newcastle. An exciting prospect to join an established business with a clear strategy in place for sustainable and profitable growth.

Your workload will be interesting and varied, offering different challenges and rewards with involvement in sectors including Custodial, Healthcare, Education, Residential, Commercial and many more. You will be working on full project lifecycle projects up to stage 5, involved in designing and developing electrical systems for projects, with a focus on detailed design, analysis, and coordination with guidance from Senior Engineers. They ensure staff at all levels gain full exposure to each project, making their Engineers well-rounded from an early stage in their career. As the region continues to grow, the path for progression is very clear and structured, allowing you to develop as far as you want without limitations.

Core responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems for buildings, including:
  • Power distribution (LV systems, switchboards, cabling)
  • Lighting systems (general, emergency, architectural)
  • Small power (sockets, equipment supplies)
  • Produce calculations:
    • Load assessments
    • Cable sizing
    • Voltage drop
    • Fault levels & protection coordination
  • Develop single-line diagrams, schematics, and layouts
