We are looking for an experienced and commercially aware Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team, delivering a range of social housing refurbishment and regeneration schemes across the region. This is an excellent opportunity to work with an established contractor on projects that make a real difference to communities, including planned maintenance, retrofit, decarbonisation, and wider regeneration works. As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account. Working closely with operational teams, clients, and subcontractors, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered profitably and efficiently while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing project costs and budgets across multiple schemes
  • Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Subcontract procurement and account management
  • Monitoring cash flow and forecasting
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks
  • Supporting the delivery team with contractual and commercial advice
  • Producing accurate cost reports for senior management
  • Ensuring compliance with contract terms and company procedures
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
  • Experience working on social housing, refurbishment, retrofit, or regeneration projects preferred
  • Strong understanding of JCT and/or NEC contracts
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Good communication and relationship-building skills
  • Full UK driving licence
