We are working alongside a privately-owned Building Services consultancy who have been operating for over 25 years. They have 5 offices and are looking for an ambitious Mechanical Associate to work alongside the Technical Director in Birmingham, in developing and growing the business across the Midlands and South regions. A really exciting prospect to join an established business with a clear strategy in place for sustainable and profitable growth.

Your workload will be interesting and varied offering different challenges and rewards every day with involvement in management, business development, commercial management and delivery with ongoing support from Director level. Project sectors include Custodial, Healthcare, Education, Residential, Commercial and much more – MEP values currently ranging between £2-70m.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and coordination of mechanical building services systems, including:
    • HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning)
    • Public health and plumbing systems
    • Low-carbon and renewable energy technologies
  • Produce and review mechanical calculations, specifications, reports, and design drawings.
  • Support the delivery of sustainable and energy-efficient building designs.
  • Manage mechanical engineering aspects of multiple projects across sectors such as healthcare, commercial, residential, education, and leisure.
  • Monitor project budgets, resources, and programme deadlines.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, contractors, and other consultants.
  • Attend design team meetings, site visits, and client workshops.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients throughout project delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and design teams.
  • Present technical solutions and design proposals to stakeholders.
  • Assist with winning repeat business and developing new client opportunities.
