I am currently recruiting on behalf of a leading subcontractor, who are actively seeking a Plant / Stores Co-ordinator on a large project in Sunderland.
Job Title: Plant / Stores Assistant (Temp to Perm)
Location: Sunderland
Contract: 36 Months Temporary (with potential to go permanent)
Rate: Competitive, depending on experience
An opportunity has arisen with a respected construction business for aStores Assistantto join their logistics team on an initial36 month temporary contract, with strong potential to gopermanentfor the right candidate.
This is an ideal role for someone with a construction background who is confident with stock control, inventory tracking, plant co-ordinationand basic IT systems.
The Role:
Reporting into the Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day management of materials and equipment stores, on-hire and off-hire of plant, ensuring everything is logged, tracked, and well organised.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate records of stock levels and movement

Receive and issue materials, tools, and equipment

Update and manage inventory spreadsheets in real time

Track incoming and outgoing items to ensure smooth operations

Work closely with the logistics team to support site needs

Maintain the stores area in a tidy and safe condition

On-hire and off-hire of plant
About You:

Previous experience working in a construction or similar site-based environment

PC literate with confidence in using spreadsheets (e.g., Excel or Google Sheets)

Available to commit to a minimum 3-month assignment, with interest in a longer-term opportunity
