Our client is world leading construction and engineering company who are looking for a Mechanical Technical Engineer to join their team in London.

Projects are based in London and the Southeast and cover various sectors including Healthcare, Residential Regeneration, Schools and Data Centres with values ranging from £5m - £130m.

You will assist the Mechanical Technical Manager in the delivery and technical authorisation of Mechanical design information; from prequalification to completion with an emphasis on preconstruction (generally but not limited to RIBA Plan of Work Stages 3 to 6 / BSRIA BG6 Stages 3 to 6).

You will build and lead effective relationships with MEP Consultants, Digital Engineering Coordinators and Specialist CDP Designers to maximise value/opportunity and mitigate risk.

Responsibilities

Develop good working relations with the MEP and Digital Engineering Consultants for allocated project.

Support the Mechanical Technical Manager in delivering the design and technical engineering management for allocated project.

Support and provide coaching / mentoring to Junior Technical Engineers.

Assist in the preparation of MEP consultant appointments.

Contribute to Designing for Safety and CDM.

Undertake granular design reviews and manage technical risks and opportunities.

Monitor and manage MEP design progress.

Technically review major packages, plant and equipment.

Validate site installation and system operation against the design.

Provide technical trouble-shooting support.

Requirements

HND / NVQ in a Mechanical or Building Services subject are preferable, but also consider people qualified by experience.

Experience within a design consultancy / D&B contractor or technical / design management role.

Good experience of design and technical responsibility and relevant sector experience.

Good understanding of project lifecycle, including RIBA and BSRIA work stages.

Strong Mechanical Engineering subject matter knowledge with knowledge of contemporary design approaches, technologies and solutions This opportunity will present you with an exciting opportunity to develop your career long term within a supportive and encouraging environment offering structure and support.
