We are looking for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist with strong communication and organisational skills, a clear understanding of occupational therapy models, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Motivation, flexibility, initiative, and an enabling approach are essential, along with experience in physical health settings. This role combines direct clinical provision and supervising and developing a large number of Community Health Care Support Workers to deliver holistic enabling care plans. We will also consider candidates interested in a developmental role from Band 5 to Band 6.
As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will support people with complex needs across different clinical pathways as they move from inpatient settings or while admitted at Hospital at home. You will deliver specialist assessments and interventions, work closely with multidisciplinary teams, and help shape care plans that promote recovery and social inclusion. You will clinically supervise a large number of Community Health Care Support Workers, delivering holistic goal-oriented care plans.
Camden Carelink and Phlebotomy Service is part of the Camden Integrated Community Service and provides reablement and case management to service users living in their home. The team is comprised of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, a Nurse Educator, Community Health Support Workers and Phlebotomists, and plans to expand to include other therapy professionals.
Essential Education/Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- Currently registered with HCPC
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Relevant Professional Body Membership
Desirable:
- Post-graduate qualification relevant to the healthcare environment
Experience:
- Post-qualification experience in NHS or similar healthcare economy
- Experience in independently managing a caseload of patients
- Experience of supervising junior colleagues & students
- Evidence of multi-disciplinary working
Desirable:
- Previous community therapist experience
- Experience in a rehabilitation setting
Ability & Skills:
- Develop and maintain communication with people about difficult matters and/or in difficult situations
- Contribute towards improving quality in own work area and encourage others to do so
- Ability to inspire & motivate clients

- Sound communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge:
- Desirable: Knowledge and understanding of the NHS modernisation agenda and the implications for community services
