We are seeking an experienced, motivated and compassionate Ward Manager to provide strong clinical and operational leadership within a busy patient‐facing environment. This key role involves leading the ward team to deliver high‐quality, person‐centred and recovery‐focused care, while shaping a positive and effective ward culture. The Ward Manager will be accountable for the day‐to‐day management of the ward, ensuring care is safe, effective and delivered in line with Trust policies, governance frameworks and the NMC Code. They will lead, manage and develop the nursing team, promoting evidence‐based practice and ensuring robust systems for supervision, appraisal and professional development. The post holder will promote effective multidisciplinary working, fostering strong communication across the MDT and wider Trust services to ensure seamless care pathways and continuity of care for service users. A clear commitment to person‐centred care is essential. The Ward Manager will be a visible and accessible leader, providing support and guidance to staff, and reassurance to patients, relatives and carers, while maintaining high professional standards at all times. NB: This is a patient‐facing role.

Essential Qualifications
- Registered on the NMC register – Mental Health/Learning Disability
- Post graduate qualification degree or extensive experience of mental health nursing.
- Evidence of CPD including completion of courses with a focus on leadership.
Desirable Qualifications
- Non‐Medical Prescriber
- Masters level of qualification
Essential Experience
- Significant experience at Clinical Team Leader Band 6 or above
- Proven experience of working in an in‐patient health care setting providing clinical leadership to lower banding staff.
- Knowledge of mental health problems, child development, mental health law and legislation and the nursing process.
- Understanding of professional and current issues in children's and mental health nursing.
- Understanding of resource management, health and safety, clinical risk and quality issues.
- Handling safeguarding issues according to Trust policies and procedures.
- Understanding or evidence of fulfilling PREP requirements for Revalidation.
- Aware of equality and diversity.
- Experience of managing and supervising others in a performance management context including appraisals.
Desirable Experience
- Ability to deliver from a range of key therapeutic interventions including CBT, DBT, psychosocial interventions and family interventions.
- Experience working in an inpatient CAMHS setting.
