At Central North West London Foundation Trust we are fully committed to improving the health of all families living in Camden and to help ensure that all children and families fulfil their potential. The post holder will be a qualified Health Visitor. You will work autonomously as part of the Integrated Early Years Service (Health Visiting & Family Support) managing a designated caseload of children and families, in order to improve their health and enable them to reach their full potential. You will work collaboratively with other agencies to provide high quality care to children and families.

Child protection work will involve gathering and analysing information to make informed assessments, appropriate referrals and participating and contributing at case conferences and core group meetings. You will support public health initiatives in line with local and national priorities which promote, protect and improve the health of the population and reduce health inequalities.

Our Health Visiting service in Camden is part of a well-developed partnership with the London Borough of Camden Early Years Service and we are presently implementing a new universal pathway for all families in the first 1001 days. Camden is one of the early implementers of Family Hubs, which brings additional funding for services for families in the first 1001 days (conception to 2 yrs) and encourages services for families with children of all ages to be brought together as part of a Family Hub network.

Health Visitors contribute to the provision of safe and reliable services by:

  • Using their clinical judgement and risk assessment to keep the people using our services safe as possible.
  • Safeguarding people by recognising and responding when an adult or child might be at risk from abuse, recognising their own limits and asking for help and escalating concerns when necessary.

  • Being open and transparent about their own practice.
