As a Pastoral Coach within Foundation Learning, you will support learners to re‑engage with education and work towards their individual goals, preparing them for progression into further learning, training or employment and positive destinations. You will engage and motivate learners who face barriers to learning, addressing issues such as attendance, punctuality, motivation and attitudes to learning. The role includes delivering both one‑to‑one and group sessions to promote wellbeing, personal development and progression.

Safeguarding and Registration Requirements

All staff employed at Coleg y Cymoedd have a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of learners, and all those working at the College are expected to uphold this commitment. All new starters must successfully complete the required pre‑employment checks prior to commencing employment, including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. For roles that involve direct interaction with learners, registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) is also a mandatory requirement.

Working Conditions

Roles at Coleg y Cymoedd are campus‑based to support teaching, learner experience and service delivery. Postholders may request flexible working, including limited remote working, through the College's Flexible Working Process. Requests are considered individually based on role needs and service coverage. Candidates or employees with accessibility or reasonable adjustment needs are encouraged to discuss these with the People & Culture team.
