We are looking for a sickness cover to support learners across our Rhondda and Nantgarw campuses as a Learner Services Assistant. This role plays a key part in helping learners overcome everyday barriers, offering practical, front‑line support with transport, travel expenses, free meals and ID badges. You'll be a friendly, approachable presence on campus, helping learners feel supported, included and able to focus on their studies in a welcoming environment. The successful candidate will also be required to travel to different locations as required to meet operational needs across all four campuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day assistance to learners, including transport arrangements, travel expense support, meal provisions, and issuance of ID badges.
  • Act as a welcoming point of contact encouraging learner inclusion and support.
  • Collaborate with campus staff to address learner needs and facilitate smooth learning experiences.

Safeguarding and Standards

All staff employed at Coleg y Cymoedd must safeguard and promote the welfare of learners, and all new starters must complete the required pre‑employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check. For roles that involve direct interaction with learners, registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) is mandatory.
