Future Skills Officer in Llanelli

Are you passionate about helping people develop the skills they need for the jobs of tomorrow? We're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Future Skills Officer to join our Recruitment, Progression and Partnerships team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with employers, schools, learners and curriculum teams to develop innovative skills initiatives that prepare learners for future careers and support regional economic growth. As a Future Skills Officer, you'll play a key role in building strong employer partnerships, supporting employability and enterprise activities, coordinating skills competitions, and delivering engaging programmes that inspire the next generation of talent. You'll also help identify emerging skills needs, promote STEM opportunities, and contribute to projects that make a real difference to learners and local businesses.

What you'll be doing:

• Building and maintaining relationships with employers, industry partners and key stakeholders.
• Supporting employability, enterprise and future skills initiatives across the College.
• Coordinating learner participation in regional, national and international skills competitions.
• Developing engaging schools outreach activities to raise aspirations and showcase career opportunities.
• Working alongside curriculum teams to ensure learners gain the skills employers need.
• Supporting funding opportunities, employer projects and income-generating activities.
• Organising events, workshops and promotional activities that inspire learners and strengthen employer engagement.

About you:

• Welsh Language Requirements:
• Welsh Oracy (Listening/Speaking) - Level 0/1 Desirable
• Welsh Literacy (Writing/Reading) - Level 0/1 Desirable

We're looking for someone who:

• Has a degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Has experience of employer engagement, partnership working or project coordination.
• Understands employability, skills development and learner progression.
• Is an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills.
• Enjoys building relationships and working collaboratively with a wide range of people.
• Can travel between our campuses, partner schools and employer locations when required.
