Contract Type: Full time, Fixed term - 13/04/2026 - 12/04/2027. This role covers 37 hours per week and a job share would be considered for the right candidates.
Salary: £33,596 - £51,932 Upper pay range points UP2 and UP3 are subject to evidence of previous progression to Upper Pay Spine.
We currently have a vacancy for an Essential Skills lecturer to deliver across our range of English, Maths and Digital Skills provision from our Wrexham campus. The successful candidate will have experience of delivering the Essential Skills Wales (ESW) suite of qualifications, which includes Essential Communication Skills, Essential Application of Number Skills and Essential Digital Literacy Skills. Applications are also welcome from lecturers who are experienced in delivering Functional Skills.
To be considered for this role, you must have proven experience and competence within English and Maths lecturing and hold the relevant teaching qualifications.
As a Lecturer at Coleg Cambria, you will be required to provide educational guidance and support for our students, as well as ensuring their safety and welfare at all times.
Essential Requirements
- A minimum of a Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g Cert Ed/PGCE) or be working towards a Level 5 teaching qualification.
- Educated to a minimum Level 4 qualification.
- Knowledge of the broad range of learning needs and how to support these needs within a learning environment.
- Proven experience and competence in English and maths lecturing.
- Awareness of the importance of quality standards within teaching.
- Recognises and makes students aware of their strengths and development needs.
- Proven experience and competence in dealing with learners who exhibit challenging behaviours.
- Able to demonstrate a commitment to and awareness of the importance of Safeguarding.
- Welsh language skills are desirable for this position.
