Our Mechanical and Maintenance Engineering department at Deeside is seeking a multi-skilled Instructor Demonstrator. Within our modern workspace equipped with industry-standard tools, you'll be responsible for delivering comprehensive, practical sessions. Your duties include maintaining the high standards within the Engineering workshops and planning practical activities in collaboration with our course team, ensuring the skill development of our students, and managing key administrative tasks such as record-keeping and student evaluations. The role involves delivering and demonstrating basic practical skills across various Engineering disciplines, including hand skills, maintenance and turning. Adherence to our guidelines on Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, and Quality is essential.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 or equivalent in a professionally relevant subject matter
  • Demonstrate an understanding of current developments within your own specialist area and ways of keeping up to date with such developments
  • Awareness of the importance of quality standards within teaching
  • Demonstrate a good level of IT competence. Must be able to navigate the Internet and Intranets, as well as being willing and able to learn how to use new IT packages and systems
  • Able to deal promptly and effectively with inappropriate behaviour in the classroom
  • Able to confidently deliver high-quality, effective, practical sessions which enhance learning for our students

Welsh skills are desirable for this specific post. We are seeking candidates who can help us grow our bilingual provision and service.
