We are looking for a Technician to support the delivery of a range of courses at our Bersham Road campus. The role involves carrying out day‑to‑day checks of facilities and resources, maintaining workshop and studio equipment, ensuring a safe, orderly working environment for staff and students, and providing technical support to the engineering team. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, resilient, and highly motivated, with a passion for education and a keen desire to make a difference in learners’ experience.
Responsibilities
- Carry out day‑to‑day checks of facilities and resources.
- Perform regular housekeeping of workshops and studios.
- Maintain large workshop equipment and perform routine maintenance.
- Provide technical support to staff and students as required.
- Participate in relevant training activities.
Essential Requirements
- Level 2 or equivalent qualification in a professionally relevant subject.
- Good standard of education at GCSE level (or equivalent).
- Demonstrable breadth of experience within the engineering industry.
- Extensive experience maintaining large workshop equipment, including regular maintenance.
- Previous experience working with learners or apprentices is highly desirable.
- Ability to work safely around vulnerable individuals; DBS disclosure required.
- Possible registration with the Education Workforce Council.
