We are looking for a Technician to support the delivery of a range of courses at our Bersham Road campus. The role involves carrying out day‑to‑day checks of facilities and resources, maintaining workshop and studio equipment, ensuring a safe, orderly working environment for staff and students, and providing technical support to the engineering team. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, resilient, and highly motivated, with a passion for education and a keen desire to make a difference in learners’ experience.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out day‑to‑day checks of facilities and resources.
  • Perform regular housekeeping of workshops and studios.
  • Maintain large workshop equipment and perform routine maintenance.
  • Provide technical support to staff and students as required.
  • Participate in relevant training activities.

Essential Requirements

  • Level 2 or equivalent qualification in a professionally relevant subject.
  • Good standard of education at GCSE level (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable breadth of experience within the engineering industry.
  • Extensive experience maintaining large workshop equipment, including regular maintenance.
  • Previous experience working with learners or apprentices is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work safely around vulnerable individuals; DBS disclosure required.
  • Possible registration with the Education Workforce Council.
