Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for the timely delivery of Coleg Cambria's payroll and pension administration, ensuring compliance with college policies, service level agreements and legislative requirements.
- You will act as a subject matter expert on payroll and pensions, keeping up to date with best practice and legislative change, and advising the College on relevant legislative changes and providing recommendations for business consideration.
Essential Requirements
- GCSE in English and Maths Grade A-C
- Qualified to AAT Level 4 or willing to work towards it
- Significant experience in payroll and pensions
- Experience in running and using payroll and pension reports (e.g. validation reports, BACS files, third party payments)
- Knowledge and understanding of the monthly payroll/pension cycle including tax year end and its requirements
- Knowledge of payroll and pension legislation and regulations – with a particular emphasis on being able to explain them to others
- Knowledge and understanding of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order and the requirement for an Enhanced DBS with Barred List check
- Applicants must disclose all cautions and convictions, including spent ones, and must not be barred from working with children
- Depending on the position, successful candidates may also need to register with the Education Workforce Council
Welsh language skills are desirable for this position.
