Role Summary: Lecturer in Agriculture at Coleg Cambria, Llysfasi.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach and inspire learners in agricultural subjects, including livestock husbandry, business, pollution control, and farm diversification.
  • Prepare learning materials, mark students’ work, and liaise with awarding bodies for exam invigilation.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, participate in marketing, planning, assessment, and evaluation of courses.
  • Collaborate with tutors on resources and curriculum development, focusing on quality standards and supporting diverse learning needs.
  • Write student reports.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified to at least Level 5 in Agriculture or a relevant subject.
  • Qualification as a teacher (PGCE, Cert Ed, C&G 7407) or willing to work towards one.
  • Ability to develop and use diverse teaching techniques and prepare effective written and visual materials.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong team player with enthusiasm.
  • Aware of the importance of quality standards within teaching.

Welsh Language Requirement:

Welsh language skills are essential. Candidates must have Welsh learners at Level 3 or demonstrate a commitment to achieving fluency. A Welsh language skills assessment will be part of the selection process.

Other Requirements:

Role covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order and requires Enhanced DBS with Barred List check. Applicants must disclose all cautions and convictions. The entitlement is not automatically preventing employment; a risk assessment will be carried out.
