Coleg Cambria is seeking a passionate and skilled Instructor Demonstrator in Bricklaying to join our team at the Deeside site. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering practical instruction and demonstrations to student groups, ensuring they develop essential skills and knowledge in a range of Bricklaying topics. You will work closely with course coordinators and lecturers to create a structured schedule of activities and support students in achieving their learning goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring student progress and assessing their competence in practical tasks.
  • Maintaining accurate records.
  • Assisting with student reviews and helping produce course results.
  • Contributing to creating a caring and supportive learning environment.
  • Maintaining professionalism, ensuring student discipline, and promoting attendance and punctuality.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 or equivalent in a professionally relevant subject matter.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of current developments within your own specialist area and ways of keeping up to date with such developments.
  • Able to support the planning and delivery of effective practical workshop sessions that enhance learning.
  • Awareness of the importance of quality standards within teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Demonstrate a good level of IT competence, as well as being willing and able to learn how to use new IT packages and systems.
  • Able to deal promptly and effectively with inappropriate behaviour in the classroom or workshop environment.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and support learners with a range of practical abilities.
  • Able to maintain a safe, clean and well-organised practical working environment.

Welsh skills are essential for this specific post. We are seeking candidates who can help us grow our bilingual provision and service. Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order requires an Enhanced DBS with Barred List check. Applicants must disclose all cautions and convictions, including spent ones. A risk assessment will be carried out to determine suitability for working with children. Depending on the position, successful candidates may also need to register with the Education Workforce Council.
