As a Veterinary Nurse Lecturer, you will have a range of responsibilities to ensure a comprehensive learning experience for students at Level 2 and 3. You will deliver captivating and informative teaching sessions, utilising your expertise to engage and inspire students. Your role will involve the preparation of learning materials and the meticulous marking of students' work to provide valuable feedback and track their progress.

As a dedicated educator, you will adhere to quality systems to continuously improve student retention, recruitment, and achievement targets. Actively participating in the college's self-assessment procedures, external inspections, and verification activities, you will contribute to maintaining and enhancing the educational standards of the institution. Monitoring and evaluation are essential aspects of your role. You will assess the effectiveness of learning sessions and engage in teaching observations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality education that meets the diverse learning needs of students.

Any successful candidate without a teaching qualification must also be willing to complete a PGCE which would be funded by the college, this will be one day a week over 2 years, starting from September.

Essential Requirements:

  • Registered veterinary nurse (RVN)
  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in veterinary nursing
  • Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE)

Depending on the position, successful candidates may also need to register with the Education Workforce Council. Roles are normally advertised with a salary range. If you are offered a role at the college, relevant experience will be taken into consideration to determine your starting salary.
