Salary: £33,596 - £51,932 per annum. Upper pay range points UP2 and UP3 are subject to evidence of previous progression to Upper Pay Spine.

We are currently looking to appoint a Lecturer in Motor Vehicle to be based at our Deeside Campus. This role falls within the 'Foundation Learning' Directorate at Coleg Cambria, where the successful candidate will teach learners enrolled in Level 1 Motor Vehicle. Learners in Foundation Learning often have a variety of additional learning needs. Therefore the ideal candidate must demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting lower-level learners and possess the ability to effectively differentiate their teaching strategies to meet diverse individual needs, ensuring an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

As a lecturer you will perform scheduled teaching, preparation of learning materials, marking of students' work, liaison with awarding bodies and exam invigilation. You will also be responsible for enrolling students on appropriate courses and provide coaching, mentoring and learning opportunities as well as ensuring the safety and welfare of our students at all times.

Essential Requirements
  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in sector specific qualification.
  • A minimum of a Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g Cert Ed/PGCE) or be working towards a Level 5 teaching qualification.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of current developments within your own specialist area and ways of keeping up to date with such developments.
  • Knowledge of the broad range of learning needs and how to support these needs within a learning environment.
  • Able to deal promptly and effectively with inappropriate behaviour in the classroom.
  • Awareness of the importance of quality standards within teaching.
  • Welsh skills are desirable for this specific post.
