Role Title: Lecturer – Independent Living Skills

Location: Northop

Contract Type: Permanent: Part time 60%

Salary: £33,596 – £51,932 (this is the full‑time salary, salary will be pro‑rata depending on working pattern). Upper pay range points UP2 and UP3 are subject to evidence of previous progression to Upper Pay Spine.

We currently have a vacancy for a Lecturer in ILS to deliver our programmes at Entry Level. In order to be considered for this role, you must have proven experience and competence teaching learners with additional learning needs and hold a PGCE (or relevant teaching qualification) as a minimum. Experience of working with EFL and RARPA is also desirable. You should be able to develop and implement a range of teaching and learning techniques, to engage with learners on all levels. Creating a nurturing and supportive environment for the learners to thrive and develop will be key to this role.

As a Lecturer at Coleg Cambria you will be required to deliver both practical and classroom based learning to our students. You will also be responsible for enrolling students on appropriate courses and provide coaching, mentoring and learning opportunities as well as ensuring the safety and welfare of our students at all times.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in sector specific qualification.
  • A minimum of a Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g. Cert Ed/PGCE) or be working towards a Level 5 teaching qualification.
  • Experience of working with/supporting young people with Additional Learning Needs.
  • Knowledge of the broad range of learning needs and how to support these needs within a learning environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Additional Learning Needs best practice and legislation.
  • Awareness of the importance of quality standards within teaching.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Self‑motivated, well organized and able to work independently using own initiative.
  • Welsh skills are desirable for this specific post.
