Role Title: Lecturer in Brickwork (Foundation)
Location: Bersham
Contract Type: Full time: Fixed term – 19 December 2025
Salary: £32,304 – £49,934
We currently have a vacancy for a Brickwork Lecturer in the Foundation Learning Directorate of Coleg Cambria, based at our Bersham Road site in Wrexham.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the vocational brickwork qualification to Level 1 learners. This role encompasses both theoretical and practical brickwork sessions, developing core knowledge and skills for the trade. You will also lead enrichment and employability sessions and provide personal tutorials to support learner progress and development. You will deliver wrap-around support to increase engagement and progression for learners with barriers to learning.
Essential requirements
- Proven extensive experience within brickwork, ideally in domestic and commercial environments
- Able to prepare effective written and visual teaching materials
- Able to manage inappropriate behaviour in the classroom
- Minimum Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g., Cert Ed/PGCE) or working towards it
- Educated to at least Level 3
- Awareness of quality standards in teaching
- Understanding of current developments in the specialist area and ways to stay up to date
- Knowledge of a broad range of learning needs and how to support them
- Ability to analyse and use key information to inform teaching and learning
- Commitment to safeguarding
Welsh language skills are desirable for this position.
