The Institute of Technology department at Bersham Road, Wrexham, is seeking an experienced Instructor Demonstrator in Electrical Installation to support the delivery of high-quality practical learning. Working within a modern workshop environment equipped with industry-standard tools, equipment and resources, you will help learners develop the practical skills, confidence and professional behaviours needed to progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study.
The role will involve:
- Supporting and delivering practical electrical workshop sessions
- Demonstrating safe and effective working methods
- Preparing tools, materials and equipment
- Working closely with the course team to support learner progress
You will contribute to the development of learners’ technical skills in areas such as:
- Electrical installation methods
- Containment systems
- Wiring techniques
- Safe isolation awareness
- Inspection preparation
- General workshop procedures
You will also support the maintenance of a safe, clean and well-organised workshop environment, assist with learner supervision, contribute to record keeping where required, and help ensure that learners are supported to achieve high standards in their practical work. Essential Requirements:
- Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation or a professionally relevant subject area
- Relevant commercial or domestic electrical installation experience
- Able to confidently demonstrate practical electrical installation skills and safe working practices to learners
- Able to support the planning and delivery of effective practical workshop sessions that enhance learning
- Demonstrate an understanding of current developments within electrical installation and building services
- Aware of the importance of quality standards within teaching, learning and assessment
- Demonstrate a good level of IT competence
- Able to deal promptly and effectively with inappropriate behaviour in the classroom or workshop environment
- Able to work effectively as part of a team and support learners with a range of practical abilities
- Able to maintain a safe, clean and well-organised practical working environment
