Job Summary:
We currently have a vacancy for a Learning Assistant to join our team at Deeside to support our learners with Additional Learning Needs. We are looking for individuals with previous experience in supporting learners in an educational setting who believe in empowering young people with a range of abilities.
Essential Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt your communication style to meet the needs of young people and adults.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills at Level 2 or above.
- Demonstrated empathy and understanding of a range of learning difficulties/disabilities, as well as resilience, flexibility, patience, and a sense of humour.
- Previous experience of supporting learners with additional learning needs in the classroom or significant relevant personal experience.
- A passion for empowering and enabling young people.
- Ability to build good working relationships with learners and staff, manage groups of learners, and maintain a positive approach to challenging behaviours.
- Welsh skills are desirable for this specific post.
