Cole & Yates Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Surfacing Installation Team Leader on behalf of a leading surfacing company that offers a range of surface solutions for play, sports, and recreation. This includes resin bound, wetpour, shock pad, artificial grass, and grass mats to a diverse customer base covering Education, Local Authority, New Build Developer, Trade & Contractor.

As the Surfacing Installation Team Leader, you will be:

  • Responsible for the installation of surfacing (playgrounds, parks, play areas, and other outdoor sites) across the UK.
  • Leading and working alongside a small team, supporting, training, and developing them to enhance their surfacing preparation, mixing, and installation knowledge.
  • Marking out and laying a mix of safety surfacing including wetpour, resin bound, shock pad, artificial grass, and grass mats. Experience in laying artificial grass is beneficial, but full training will be provided.
  • Ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to set specifications and quality standards.
  • Collecting materials from the depot and/or taking receipt of materials on site, including unloading and storing.
  • Responsible for the company van allocated to you along with all company tools, plant, and equipment assigned to you.
  • Ensuring the safe transit of materials/vehicles on site.
  • Maintaining daily site housekeeping and record keeping, ensuring a tidy workplace and clearing waste from the site.
  • Taking receipt of materials on site and/or collecting from the depot ahead of installation.

To be considered as the Lead Surfacing Installer, you will need:

  • Previous experience of installing resin bound or wetpour surfacing solutions.
  • The ability to lead a team.
  • A good knowledge of different surfacing materials and the correct installation process; full initial training will be given during induction.
  • A CSCS Card.
  • Enhanced DBS.
  • To be reliable, hardworking, punctual, and possess good communication skills.
  • A full UK Driving Licence.
  • Groundworks experience to prepare the ground ahead of surfacing installation. If not, experience in checking groundworks to ensure correct base preparation and sizes for surfacing is required.
  • Willingness to work in the warehouse or assist at the depot when installation is not possible due to weather.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and stay away as needed (staying away is a key requirement for this role).
