We are seeking an experienced Surfacing Installation Team Leader on behalf of a leading surfacing company who offer a range of surface solutions for play, sports and recreation that includes resin bound, wetpour, shock pad and artificial grass and grass mats to an equally wide customer base that covers Education, Local Authority, New Build Developer, Trade & Contractor.
As the Surfacing Installation Team Leader, you will be:
- Responsible for the installation of the surfacing (playgrounds, parks, play areas and other outdoor sites) on sites across the UK.
- Leading and working alongside a small team who you will be supporting, training and developing to increase their surfacing preparation, mixing, installation knowledge.
- Marking out and laying a mix of safety surfacing including wetpour, resin bound, shock pad, artificial grass and grass mats. If you have experience of laying artificial grass that would be useful, if not full training will be given.
- Ensuring work is completed safely, on time and to set specification and quality standards.
- Collecting materials from the depot and/or taking receipt of materials on site which will include unloading and storing.
- Responsible for the company van allocated to you along with all company tools, plant and equipment assigned to you.
- Ensuring the safe transit of materials / vehicles on site.
- Daily site housekeeping and record keeping, maintaining a tidy work place and clearing waste from the site.
- Taking receipt of materials on site and/or collecting from the depot ahead of the installation.
To be considered as the Lead Surfacing Installer you will need:
- Previous experience of installing resin bound or wetpour surfacing solutions.
- The ability to lead a team.
- A good knowledge of the different surfacing materials and the correct installation process – please note full initial training on all surfacing materials and correct installation process will be given during the induction.
- A CSCS Card.
- Enhanced DBS.
- To be reliable, hardworking, punctual and possess good communication skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Groundworks experience to enable you as needed to prepare the ground ahead of installing the surfacing. If you do not, then you will need experience of checking groundworks to ensure it has the correct base preparation and sizes for the surfacing being installed. Not all projects require groundworks so it would be useful to have this experience for the ones that do.
- To be happy to work in their warehouse or assisting at the depot on those days when installing surfacing is not an option due to weather.
- To be happy to travel across the UK and stay away as needed (staying away is a key requirement for this role, it can be that you do not stay away one month but need to stay away for two to three weeks the next month).
