Job Opportunity: Trainee Estimator living within commuting distance of Slough. On offer is a permanent full-time job paying between £28,000 and £33,000 per year (negotiable based on experience). There is an onsite carpark if you drive and if you need public transport there is a train station and a number of nearby bus stops too.

Our Client works within the commercial construction sector, is a specialist full package service provider working for both national and regionally based developers to whom they offer a full design, installation and ongoing maintenance service.

As the Trainee Estimator you will be joining a well-established, experienced and growing team, who will fully support you as you continue to learn and hone your skills as an Estimator and will be estimating for tender opportunities that can range from anywhere from £250K to over £10M.

As the Trainee Estimator you will be:

  • Measuring PDF drawings using Bluebeam software.
  • Producing tender documents.
  • Producing Bills of Quantities.
  • With more experience and as required attending site visits and tender meetings.
  • Liaising with clients to gain updates on submitted bids.
  • Looking to identify areas of risk during the tender process.

To be considered as the Trainee Estimator you will need:

  • The ability to measure drawings and some estimating experience.
  • Have had some experience of producing Bills of Quantities.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to manage a workload that can consist of several projects at the same time.
  • A HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil / Structural Engineering or related discipline (i.e. Mathematics).
  • To be living within commuting distance of Slough.

On offer for the successful candidate for this Trainee Estimator job is:

  • A starting salary of between £28,000 and £33,000 per year.
