An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Air Freight Co-ordinator to join a busy operations team based in Feltham. This role is ideal for someone with solid air freight/export experience who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment and enjoys liaising with airlines and internal teams to ensure smooth and on-time movement of goods.
Shift Pattern
- Week 1 - Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
- Week 2 - Tuesday - Saturday 7am - 4pm
The Role
You will be responsible for preparing export documentation and coordinating air freight operations in line with internal procedures and carrier requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing export documentation including MAWB, commercial invoices and postal documentation
- Liaising with airlines and General Sales Agents regarding flight capacity, space bookings and equipment
- Monitoring flight schedules and capacity
- Requesting and confirming uplift with airlines
- Resolving air transport related queries
- Maintaining internal export schedules and issuing warehouse processing instructions
- Monitoring KPIs and maintaining performance reports
- Communicating delays clearly to internal teams
- Supporting the Linehaul Supervisor
- Ensuring on-time uplift and maintaining carrier capacity based on operational demand
- Updating transport reports and escalating issues where required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience in air freight/export operations
- Strong understanding of airline operations and air transport procedures
- Experience planning bookings and liaising directly with airlines
- Ability to input MAWBs into internal systems and airline portals
- Knowledge of postal and freight operations
- Experience with import/export by air
- 5 years' checkable employment history and CRB check eligible
- Knowledge of customs clearance procedures
- Familiarity with systems such as Box Top and ASM Sequoia (desirable)
